If you think cardio exercise alone will make you lose belly fat, you are very much mistaken. The fact is, you will need abdominal exercises to lose belly fat as well.
In fact, none of the usual ‘ab’ exercises – whether sit up, crunches or any other form, will give you the desired result for the simple reason that, they cannot burn body fat sufficiently. To achieve your goal, that is to lose all that fat from the belly, you will have to raise your metabolic rate suitably, and this will be possible only through rigorous whole body exercises.
However, abdominal exercises to lose belly fat can still help. If you are working on the muscles in tour abdomen area, it will certainly help your weight loss process.
Here Are A Few Overall Body Exercises That Can Help You Shed Those Pounds – These Exercises Will Help Your Abdominal Muscles Too
Deadlifts is ideal for losing fat in the belly.
Hold a barbell with overhand grip in front of you with hands held shoulder-width apart, and palms facing you. With knees straight but not locked, hold the barbell close to the body, around the hip level. This is the time to contract your abdominal muscles. Now, gradually bend frontward to lower the barbell in a slow controlled motion. Now inhale. During your forward leaning, keep the hips and the glutes backward, but keep the barbell close to the body. The body weight should rest on the heels. Stop when you feel a mild stretch on your hamstring. Exhale forcefully as you get back to the standing position. Repeat.
Power Lunges are also good for you. These can be your choice of abdominal exercises to lose belly fat.
Go under the barbell and hold it at the back of your neck. Now is the time to do several things together. Contract your abdominal muscles while stepping your right foot 2/3 feet forward and folding your right knee, thus forming a lunge. Also, the right knee should be plainly over the right toes. Make sure that there is no deviation from this. This will prevent any accidental injury. Now, hold the position for a second or two before driving through the right leg to get back to the starting position. This method of exercise works very well for the upper rectus abdomius, and is often recommended for losing fat from the belly quickly.
You should definitely do some abdominal exercises to lose belly fat. But don’t overdo them. Remember to warm up and cool down before and after the exercise.
